StumbleUpon is a widely used websurfer tool for those who love to view the most favorited sites at random at the touch of a button.  Moreover, the desktop experience made it easy to stumble and share sites with other users.  Recently StumbleUpon has released an app for iPhone and Android that allows you to do the same with some cool tweaks for a whole new mobile browsing experience.

StumbleUpon For iPhone and Android

You need to sign up to StumbleUpon first before using this app.  If you havent, you can register from the front page of the app.  For those who are familiar with the StumbleUpon web browser toolbar, the functionality is pretty much the same.  You can browse favorite sites tailored to your interests at random with the StumbleUpon button, and share the site on facebook, twitter and email.  You can also vote the site thumb up and down, see their site views, how many views it got, and the names of the users who liked them.  Due to the slower internet connection on mobile phones, they also added an option to view the site’s thumbnail size.  My opinion in here though is they should’ve added the thumbnail size option by default and make it load first than the full site version, rather than the other way around.  I guess that would make the loading time faster.  But the good thing here is, upon loading the app, they added a ‘Best for mobile stumbling’ feature where you can randomly view sites based on Photos, Flickr, News or YouTube.

If you dont have StumbleUpon for iPhone and Android yet, and I recommend you should have it, it is a free download for iOS and Android 2.1+ devices, available in the App Store and Market.

Just stumbled it – can’t praise this invention highly enough. Without Stumbleupon, my site would receive virtually no traffic. It is probably the best tool I’ve ever encountered online.
