20+ Inspiring iPad Illustrations

  • About the author

Cindy Cindy is a professional designer, tech enthusiast and avid gamer who has recently delved into the world of wordpress. She loves to work on Application GUI Design for mobile and desktop apps. When she's not working or blogging, you can find her tapping her life away to Tap Tap Revenge 3 on her iPhone 3GS.

Who would believe that iPad illustrations can be this detailed?  I know I can draw something pretty decent using vector art, but not as detailed.  Are you the kind of painter who loves to make instant sketches when inspiration strikes?  Imagine yourself gathering an audience you want to impress without being the traditional painter who carries in public a large canvass, a stand and a huge set of painting tools.  That would be such a mess to set up.  Today’s new age painter will only need to draw iPad illustrations with painting apps like Brushes or Sketchbook Pro for the iPad, and his artistic finger to paint on the screen.  I found these them while browsing for some mobile art and I came across the Brushes group in flickr that showcases a gallery of some amazing iPhone and iPad illustrations.  These painters are very talented and took advantage of the large screen resolution with lots of detail and creativity.    I handpicked my most favorites and thought of sharing them here.  Enjoy!

hey Jakes, yes I’m accepting guest posts now :) My comments are getting hard to scroll even if I have a few of them so I did some changes before more comments (hopefully) arrive.

I cant believe it either. I have the Brushes app on my iPhone and its so hard to manage doing a decent lineart. I guess it goes with a lot of practice and playing with different brush techniques.

      Thanks Jakes!

That artwork is amazing! Being I have trouble drawing a circle in Photoshop I can appreciate this. I think drawing on the computer is much more difficult than drawing on paper.

I finally got a link to your site from mine…I just love my graphic! You are very talented. :)

Hey Melinda, thanks :) Drawing on the computer using a mouse is hard. Drawing in paper or wacom is better especially if you have a huge canvass to work on with lots of space to play with.

I’m going to add yours too!
